Morgan from Team Maanch was a panelist at a very well attended event hosted by STEP and Philanthropy Impact. As part of her talk about Millennial motivators for giving, and what advisors and charities can do to better understand and communicate with the demographic, she seeded Maanch amongst sector stakeholders.
As part of a wider Philanthropy Programme series the event explored how millennials are changing philanthropy. The panel discussed the many aspects of philanthropy undergoing change and what wealth advisors can anticipate from giving habits and, more broadly, client behaviour in the future.
Of key interest to the event attendees was how Millennials are engaging with philanthropy in a different way to the generations before them. Their use of social channels to connect with, and learn about, causes; their desire to embrace investment opportunities that help deliver the change they want to see in the world; and their understanding of the value of their time, skills and network in addition to the financial support they can give were all highlighted as key areas that charities and advisors should explore as engagement opportunities.
Maanch solved a gap Morgan identified – a technology platform that helps to steer decisions around philanthropy that has a truly global scope. There was a positive response from both advisors and social purpose organisations that solutions including Maanch are being developed to ensure that millennial donors make strategic choices in their philanthropy, using tools that enable them to give to the causes they care about easily, efficiently, and with a deep understanding of the impact of their funding.
