Hosted at The Conduit, this preview featured an update on our progress, a keynote speech address from the Maltese President H.E. Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca and shared insights from all our stakeholder groups – charities, donors, advisors and business leaders.
On our panel we were honoured to take a deep dive into multiple perspectives on the philanthropic sector: Raza Jafar, serial entrepreneur and founder of the Global Sustainability Network addressed the steps needed to end modern day slavery; Dr. Scilla Elworthy discussed building a Business Plan for Peace; and Paul van Zyl, Co-Founder of The Conduit, shared thoughts on the necessity of building an ecosystem of philanthropists and social entrepreneurs to build effective collaborations among diverse stakeholders.
We were delighted to see so many stakeholders from the sector come together and share their commitment to Maanch’s vision for creating a fairer future for everyone on the planet. It was clear that our aim to build a thriving marketplace for SDGs based collaboration is resoundadly supported by the community, as is our commitment to trust, transparency, and impact.
In response to the learnings from the event, H.E Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca, President of Malta, shared the following inspirational insight into the opportunity Maanch provides for creating the important synergies we need to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030:
“Each and every one of us is to act boldly, to demand strategies of global social inclusion; to address the inequalities that continue to hinder our progress towards more inclusive and peace-affirming societies; and to focus on approaches for sustainable development, so as to ensure more resilient communities.
I am confident that the Maanch platform has the potential to help in addressing these concerns.”
